Always delicious, fantastic food... Staff and service are brilliant you really feel welcome and looked after.If just going for a drink then it's a great place to hang out... Cosy fire in the winter, nice and bright in the warmer seasons. Some great ales always on.
My family regularly go to the Old Fleece for a Sunday Roast. The gravy is amazing and my son just loves the roast carrots and now asks me to do them at home! The staff are lovely and always make the customers feel welcome, including dogs who are also allowed in the bar. If you go to the website first they often have offers for food such as buy a main meal get another for 3.50. Not in the run up to Christmas though. In the day time they offer the normal menu and on the board they have doorstop sandwiches or ciabattas. Good selection of wines and Gin. Lovely pub, always seems busy with a welcome vibe.
Oft visited for reliably good food, a friendly vibe and good wine. Great for lunch at the end of a long walk. Or halfway through a long walk. Or just go for lunch.

The food was wonderful, they have a very good selection of wines which is always a good indicator of quality. They served a quality desert wine also, which complimented the meal.I would highly recommend the old fleece, but book early, so you can get in as it's a popular place to eat due to the delicious food produced. My only gripe was the chocolate brownie was a bit on the small side, I didn't feel that the portion size of this justified the cost.
