Bought my cat in as an emergency as he had been fighting.the vets charged me 150 before even touching my cat and failed to find the 50p size hole in his side.was not very attentive with my cats needs/did not seem bothered to check him over properly.although my cat was clearly in pain.I was left disgusted with the service.clearly only wanted my money! Will never return.
25+ Years with them & no complaints! My family I love our cats, over the years at least 10 have been through the doors of this practice (From Landsdown days to Clockhouse now).Surgery wise - amazing - one of my cats at 7 months old was hit by a speeding car - her injuries were possibly life threatening, it was out of hours, but by the time we had arrived, so had a vet called Pablo. He took over immediately. Muffin had a shattered pelvis, broken leg & tail. It was a surgery v euthanasia option TBH. Pablo felt he could put her back together, I trusted him & his team. They rebuilt her pelvis (4mm thick & incredibly fragile!) - and in 3 days Muffin was home in a large dog cage to keep her from running about. She has not looked back since & is now 10 years old. The entire practice are on the whole very friendly, capable, kind & compassionate. They have helped me with tiny babies, through to end of life injections - making sure I had recovered enough to drive home safely.I would recommend this practice to anyone. The fees may be a little higher than others, but (a BIG BUT!) they are an animal HOSPITAL, open 24/7 for emergencies, visits to see those in the hospital, & for a 'phone call to a nurse on call if you just want to check out of something is an emergency or if it can wait until the next surgery time. They even open for 2 hours of surgery on a Sunday.I'm exceptionally grateful to ALL the team that make up the practice, and hope our long friendship continues. If your animal is unwell - they really DO all they can to help.
Since moving to Stroud area I have visited the vets with my dog 3 or 4 times. Compared to previous vets their consultation fees are high (I think around 35, previous vets was 18). However it is worth it as they will always fit you in and have later clinics than some vets. I have got same day appointments twice in emergencies, and you can hear when waiting that if someone phones up with something urgent they will always squeeze them in. I have had better information on my dogs condition and treatment options here. I don't feel like the vets automatically steer you towards high cost treatments.
I always find the staff to b helpful, caring and understanding how important our pets are to us. All staff from reception through to the nurses and vetenarians have always been kind and helpful when I've needed to take my dog at short notice and he has been quickly diagnosed and treated
Recently I went to The Clockhouse Vets with my sister and her dog. We are lucky to have a veterinary hospital open 24/7. The staff were lovely and very professional and caring. We were given time and and consideration. At a time that was very stressful we couldn't have asked for a better practice.
