My wife went here after being practically chucked out of Gloucester hospital because they needed the bed. During a very traumatic time for us, with all our babies issues and not even being with her mum but in ICU, the staff really showed a caring and professional manner. Shame there are not more hospitals like this one.
I stayed here after giving birth in 2009 when I was 21. I was having problems with social services due to being a student at Ruskin mill and being diagnosed with Aspergers. The hospital coluded with them and lied to them saying I had sex with the babies father in my hospital suit just after giving birth. I was thrown out of the hospital with my baby. The hospital didn't even come and talk to me about it to verify it with me and hear my side of the story. They just called the SS and I was thrown out. I only found out about the accusation when I was discharged and to this day this record has not been deleted. Angela the midwife, the one with a shaky voice, dark hair and freckles was also very nasty and very rude to me throughout my pregnancy. She was one of the people who bullied me into relinquishing my child along with Mandy Rowbotton. I will never forget how much they discriminated me and how horrible they were.
I had a nock to my tummy last night at 24 weeks pregnant, and was unsure what the best thing too do was because I hadn't felt any movement since the mistake, I was very nervous and scared of hearing a bad result, but my perants persuaded me to go to stroud maternity hospital for reasurance. We hadn't called in advance, I didn't have my maternity notes, but when we arrived inside we met a lovely lady, which reasured us lots and did loads of checks and we heard the heart beat which was deffinutly normal. All I can say is that they were really kind and welcoming, and couldn't have done more for me.
Very good staff. They are so reliable and very helpful. I was unfortunate to have a midwife that was useless but I was able to change midwife's very quickly.
I was born here. My mum told me it was the place to go when delivering a child or a new life. She said it was the best place around. My 3 sisters have now all given birth to their children here too. It's still known for being the best in the area.
