Very interesting for local history. Possibly let down by cafe which is 'minimal' in what is provided. Plenty of parking although some distance from museum. People with disabilities can park nearer though. Pleasant park to walk around in as well.

An excellent museum. Always a warm welcome. Well curated exhibitions and don't miss the walled garden which is stunning all year round.
This is a really nice little museum in the middle of Stratford Park in Stroud. The right hand wing of the museum has a range of rooms with different pieces of local history from prehistoric right up to more recent times. It's a bit of a jumble at times but that somehow just makes it the more endearing. They have 'trails' for kids to keep them occupied too. To the left are rooms for various exhibitions, and out back is a beautiful walled garden. There is a coffee machine and some tables to sit, and a small gift shop.
Most enjoyable day. We visited the permanent museum, which had a good selection of artifacts and historical information of the local area. The WW1 exhibition was very touching and the illustration fair fantastic.
